We tried this last year and everyone who came went home with at least one nice trophy trident maple. The whole idea is pretty simple. This is just like a collecting trip except the trees are all growing in rows on flat ground that has almost no rocks.

You bring your own tools, pans, bags, etc. and you dig the tree or trees you see the most potential for bonsai. When all is said and done you pay me $25 per inch of trunk diameter measured at the ground. There is a $25 minimum per tree.

The trees survived last summer’s drought very well. After last year’s dig we removed the tops on most of the trees and they all sprouted new branches lower down on the trunks.

Note: All trees must be taken bare root. No ball and burlap allowed.
